Summer is nearly here, and vacation planning, if you haven’t already started, doesn’t have to be a mad dash of anxiety. If you’re overdue for a vacation but haven’t saved enough for extravagance, no worries! These destinations offer plenty to see and do, even if your budget isn’t perfect.
Mexico
The current currency exchange rate for Mexico is at an all-time low, meaning you can travel on a shoestring and dine like royalty. Spots like Mazatlan, Teotihuacan, and Oaxaca offer amazing things to do and see (like the Aztec pyramids at Teotihuacan) and don’t cost your entire year’s salary. Many destinations in Mexico also have wandering peddlers selling their wares at next to nothing, meaning you can bring back souvenirs for everyone and still have money left over.
Morocco
You might not think so, but Morocco, located in South Africa, is one of the most affordable countries you can visit. Several airlines offer discounted rates for flights to Morocco, and hotels have varying discounts, especially if you are traveling as part of a group. Exotic destinations, like the Atlas Mountains, offer excitement for everyone from the vacationer who simply wants to lounge and relax, to the extreme challenges of hiking for days. If you want to go shopping while here, designer styles can be found for a fraction of what you might pay elsewhere.
Greece
You might not think so, but this paradise is one that can be seen on the cheap, due to Brexit and the fall of the Euro. Greece’s economy has deteriorated over the past few years, making this beautiful country one that can be visited much more economically than in the past. The entire country offers a peek into history with such infamous destinations as Athens and Santorini, and the Acropolis Museum is home to artifacts that date back to the time of Aristotle.
If you want the best of what the world has to offer, but don’t think you have the budget to do so, look into these destinations. You’ll be happy you were mistaken.
